Antonio Felix da Costa secured his third win at Tempelhof, making history as he handed Porsche their maiden Formula E victory on home soil.
In a thrilling race, da Costa initially led the pack through the early stages, with the Porsches running in tandem. However, pressure mounted from the Jaguars of Nick Cassidy and Mitch Evans as they battled for position.
Following an intervention from the Porsche Safety Car, Evans briefly took the lead, but da Costa executed a late-braking move to reclaim his position at the front. Oliver Rowland then surged past, climbing from 16th on the grid to challenge for victory.
Despite fierce competition, da Costa maintained a strategic advantage, securing a decisive victory. Cassidy, making a late move on Rowland, clinched second place and set the fastest lap, while Rowland settled for third after an impressive climb.
Pascal Wehrlein fought hard for fourth place, engaging in a tight battle with reigning champion Jake Dennis. Meanwhile, Evans finished sixth, with Jehan Daruvala securing a record finish for Maserati MSG Racing in seventh.
NEOM McLaren’s Taylor Barnard showcased his talent with a remarkable performance, advancing from 18th to eighth. Joel Eriksson of Envision Racing secured his best finish in ninth, with Jean-Eric Vergne completing the top ten.
Cassidy emerged from Berlin with an impressive 45-point haul, claiming the championship lead with 140 points. Wehrlein trails closely behind with 124 points, followed by Rowland in third with 118 points. Jaguar TCS Racing leads the Teams’ standings with 237 points, while TAG Heuer Porsche follows closely behind with 183 points.
Next up, Formula E heads to China for a double-header in Shanghai on May 25th and 26th, promising more exhilarating racing action.
